The future of Haida Gwaii belongs to the next generation, and it’s time for our youth to have a meaningful voice in shaping it. Haida Gwaii Youth is a new initiative that brings together young people from across the islands to advocate for our governance, economy, and cultural futures.
In partnership with The Council of the Haida Nation’s Youth Governance department, The Precious Culture Society, and the Haida Gwaii Media Collective, this initiative is dedicated to creating space for youth to be heard, gather, and lead. Too often, young people have been left out of decision-making—this changes now.

No matter your age, you have a role to play in uplifting youth voices:
Children (0-12 years)
🌱 Our Future Leaders – Learning about identity, culture, and community responsibility through early mentorship and engagement.
Youth (13-20 years)
🔥 Our Change Makers – Developing leadership skills, speaking up in governance, and gaining experience in advocacy, media, and cultural work.
Young Adults (21-26 years)
🚀 Our Emerging Leaders – Taking on active roles in governance, guiding younger youth, and shaping the pathways for long-term community success.
Adults (27+)
🛡 Our Supporters – Providing mentorship, opportunities, and resources to ensure youth voices are respected and included in leadership.
